Upcoming Member Appreciation Month events
CSEA has designated May as Member Appreciation Month. To celebrate the festivities, Region One will be holding two bowling night events. One event will be in Suffolk County (May 10th) and the other in Nassau County (May 17th). Keep your eyes open for an email from CSEA, which will provide instructions on how to enter a drawing to win tickets to one of the affairs.

For the first time, CSEA’s Town of Brookhaven White Collar Unit, Blue Collar Unit and Highway Unit held a joint member meeting to discuss how working together will help members of the Town of Brookhaven Local achieve their goals and increase CSEA’s power in the town.
The group discussed using small actions to demonstrate the importance of the town’s workforce. CSEA Long Island Region President Jarvis Brown let members know that their most powerful action is being engaged and building a strong labor/management team. Brown added that the team’s efforts should be “continuous and respectful.”
Other Town of Brookhaven Local and unit leaders gave members unit updates and thanked everyone for being open to working together. Hopes are high that it will be a fruitful endeavor.
Education and Training
In the spirit of putting safety first, CSEA is offering alternative ways to keep information flowing as we adjust to our new normal. One major point of interest is member education, which is why CSEA’s Education & Training Department is now offering several webinars. You will find a listing of trainings offered, here.
