Conducting New Member Orientations during the pandemic
During this pandemic and due to social distancing guidelines, we cannot properly gather new employees at the workplace for a proper New Member Orientation. This presents a challenge to union leaders and activists, but as union members, we are used to facing challenges head-on.
Our CSEA Member Engagement and Education & Training Departments have worked cooperatively to produce the following “how-to” training video for leaders and activists who are interested in building a more effective New Member Orientation program. A pandemic won’t stop us from bringing the union advantage to all new workers and making our union stronger!

Now that you’ve learned how to conduct your New Member Orientation, the following is a very brief “welcome to CSEA” video you can show to new employees that highlights our new ability to allow new members to easily join our union by texting. This is available for union leaders to utilize in conjunction with the New Member Orientation packets available from your Region Office.
