Smart. Dynamic. Caring. Dedicated. These are just a few of the ways to describe CSEA members. We often say that members are the strength of CSEA because it’s true but CSEA members are also the strength of public services, and the strength of the communities where you live. Take a look at the pages of this edition and it’s very clear. From Long Island to Jamestown, from the Southern Tier to Ogdensburg, from Suffern to Rochester, you and your brothers and sisters in CSEA are part of something bigger than all of us. You also help to define just exactly what CSEA is. We work hard every day to make New York a better place. We find new ways to get the job done and deliver value. We are involved in our school associations, little league teams, church and social activities, all seeking to improve the quality of life where we live and help our family, friends and neighbors. And we care about what we do. I don’t have to tell you that these are difficult times for working people and that there is a lot of injustice in this world. You already know it and you believe in fairness and respect. That’s what we’re all after and there’s a good chance that we’ll achieve it when we all work together. That’s because the strength of CSEA is in you. 4 The Work Force June 2015
