Barbara Rustin, president of the New York Metropolitan Retirees Local 910 in the Metropolitan Region, is the PEOPLE Recruiter of the Year for 2015. Local 910 was also honored for recruiting the most new PEOPLE members that year. “I always think that it’s important for every CSEA Retiree to be in PEOPLE because it protects our pensions, Medicare and Medicaid, Social Security and much more,” Rustin said. “PEOPLE is also important for all CSEA members to join because there’s so much at stake for us. It may cost a few dollars (per month) to join PEOPLE, but it’s worth it.” Capital District Retiree Local 999 activist James Ingoldsby is the PEOPLE Recruiter of the Year for 2016. Local 999 was also honored for recruiting the most new PEOPLE members. “I believe in the PEOPLE program, and I’m eager to promote and educate our retired members on the importance of saving our pensions and benefits,” Ingoldsby said. “I urge activists to please invite (PEOPLE recruiters) to your next information day or membership meeting.” CSEA’s PEOPLE program protects and improves our jobs, benefits and pensions in Washington, Albany and in your community. Your support and participation in PEOPLE strengthens CSEA’s clout in the workplace, in the legislature, in your community and in the labor movement.
