CSEA President Mary E. Sullivan:
Project 2025 would harm union members!
CSEA Family,
This year’s election could very
well be the most important one in our lifetime, as our futures are at stake.
You may have heard about a document called “Project 2025.” This document is an extensive proposal developed by the Heritage Foundation, a far-right think
tank. It is intended to be a policy blueprint for the next Republican administration.
Many of our union members have varying political views and we respect and understand that;
these differing beliefs help make
our union strong. However, many of
the proposals in Project 2025 would
be devastating for members and
retirees. •
and Fair Labor Standards Act, which could allow for the removal of worker protections.
Gut seniority rights, eliminate release time for union business and end your contract-guaranteed pay. Cut corporate taxes by nearly $30 billion.
Reduce the public sector workforce at a time when adequate staffing for public services remains a critical issue.
Cut reproductive rights that could place people in danger of not receiving needed health care.
Legislative and Political Action Department, along with Statewide and Region Political Action Committee members, are educating members about these harmful proposals. We also have numerous resources available on cseany.org/ vote for members to learn more.
It is time to stand together and fight back against Project 2025 so that we can protect our futures!
In solidarity,
Mary E. Sullivan, President
 Project 2025 seeks to:
• Eliminate traditional
Medicare and remove limits on Medicare out-of-pocket drug costs.
• Eliminate public-sector unions, noting, “Congress should consider whether public-sector unions are appropriate in the first place.” That is their direct quote.
• Allow state and local government to waive federal labor laws, including the National Labor Relations Act

Retiree Executive Committee Chair Bernadette Giambra:
Get informed; get out to vote!
Hello! Hello! I hope you are
enjoying the Fall!
While we may have (slightly) cooler weather, the need to get involved in our union has never been hotter.
During the recent CSEA Retiree Delegates Meeting, I was privileged to join other CSEA Retiree leaders in getting done the business of our union, as well as gaining knowledge during the Political Action and many other informative programs.
We heard a presentation on
how to prevent fraud. Scams are everywhere, and retirees are one of
2
the most widely victimized groups. I was impressed by our delegates’ attention to this program, and really hope that this information is shared with all CSEA Retirees. We also got some great knowledge on legal resources and updates.
Another very important program was the Political Action Update, during which we heard about a true threat to retirees, working people and the labor movement.
As you know, we are facing the most important election in our lifetime.
You may have heard of Project 2025, which is a document developed by the Heritage Foundation, which is a far-right think tank. In this document are proposals that are central to the next Republican administration.
Project 2025’s authors want to eliminate public-sector unions, cut public jobs and remove many of the job protections that are so vital to our working union family.
For older Americans, Project 2025’s authors also want to eliminate traditional Medicare; and raise drug costs. Also proposed are severe cuts to programs that help lower-income seniors.
They would also cut corporate taxes by $30 billion, as well as taxes for already-wealthy people – at the expense of working people and retirees! Many of our personal rights and liberties – including ones that we fought on the front lines
to achieve – are now in danger of being overturned.
However, we CAN stop any of this from happening. We all need to
get out and vote! Retirees turn out at the polls more than any other group, and we can do it again! Make a plan to vote and use your voice!
In addition to the Presidential election, there are elections for U.S. Congress and state legislative offices. These elections are also very important to CSEA members.
Not all of us agree with one another and I respect that. However, if we are going to survive as a union, we need everyone to turn out and vote!
In Solidarity,
Bernie
Bernadette Giambra, Chair CSEA Retiree Executive Committee
I encourage you to get educated on the facts. Our union’s
