When we vote together, we win together
4 The Work Force
December 2019
Sisters and Brothers:
When we vote together, we win together!
This past election, CSEA members all over our state made phone calls, dropped campaign literature, rallied and voted
for candidates who support our basic principles of fairness and dignity for all workers. The resulting wins showed the power of what we can accomplish when we are involved and when we vote.
From helping elect pro-worker candidate Adam Bello as Monroe County executive; to defeating anti-worker candidate Laura Gillen as Town of Hempstead supervisor; to getting CSEA member Michael Sheehan elected as superintendent in the Town of Wappinger Highway Department, we made great strides electing our bosses who will help set a more positive tone for our labor relations and working conditions in those
municipalities and in every area where our endorsed candidates won.
CSEA thanks all of you who got involved and applauds you for your dedication and involvement. For those who may have sat out this election, I ask you to get involved. It is the way we show the power and strength of our union to make a difference for all workers. It is how we make our voices heard and respected. It is how we can secure fair and decent contracts. It is how we have the power to pass legislation to improve the lives of all of our members.
When we vote together, we win together. We have the power.
In solidarity,
