CSEA’s notice of nomination and election
Nominations for the following positions took place between September 5 – October 12, 2023:
Statewide Officers:
President, Executive Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer
Region Officers: Region 1: President, Executive

Statewide Board of Directors:
The Statewide Board of Directors consists of representatives of the State Executive Committee and the Local Government Executive Committee.
CSEA Election Schedule for Statewide Officers, Region Officers, Statewide Board of Directors (Remainder of schedule)
November 20, 2023: Deadline for declinations and name confirmation. December 1, 2023: Voter eligibility date.
December 5, 2023: Deadline
for candidates who qualify for Statewide, Region or Board of Directors to submit for publication in The Work Force their picture, the entity they work for, and the CSEA office they are seeking. (This edition will be mailed on or about December 15th.)
December 7, 2023: Drawing for positions on ballot (1:00 p.m.).
December 8, 2023: Local and Unit President labels available. December 12, 2023: Deadline for campaign literature submission for printing (5:00 p.m.).
December 22, 2023: Voter lists available for inspection.
January 16, 2024: Ballots mailed. January 23, 2024: Replacement ballots available.
February 15, 2024: Deadline for receipt of ballots (8:00 a.m.). Ballot count commences (9:00 a.m.).
Election results will be announced after the ballot count is complete and certified. Protest period ends
10 days following Statewide Election Committee’s certification of results. Candidates will be notified by mail of the results. Election results will be published in the March 2024 edition of The Work Force.
Voting Eligibility Date
Only CSEA members in good standing as of December 1, 2023 will be eligible to vote in the election.
Election Oversight
The union’s Statewide Election Committee will oversee the election process. The American Arbitration Association, an independent election agency approved by the union’s Statewide Board of Directors, will conduct the balloting.
Any CSEA member may obtain information about the election process by calling the Statewide Election Committee at CSEA Headquarters at 1-800-342-4146 ext. 1447 or 518-257-1447.

For the 2024 election season for CSEA Statewide, Region, Statewide Board of Directors and AFSCME International Convention Delegates, please ensure we have your
most current mailing and contact information now.
Update us by logging into or creating your online member account at cseany.org/register. Once logged in, select “MY CSEA ACCOUNT” in the application dropdown box. You will need your CSEA Member ID Number, which can be looked up on the home
page of our union’s website at cseany.org.
If you don’t have a computer or don’t wish to update your information online, call CSEA Headquarters at 1-800-342-4146. Our staff in the Member Solutions Center can assist you in updating your information.
You need your CSEA ID number to
participate in CSEA elections
Statewide, Region, Board of Directors and AFSCME Delegates
Your 10-digit CSEA ID number
is printed on your CSEA membership card. It is the only number you need when running as a candidate, signing nomination petitions, voting, etc.
If you are unsure of your ID number or have lost your card, you
may look up your CSEA ID
number on your smart phone. Go
to cseany.org. Click on the Get My Member ID link at the top right of the page. Or call 1-800-342-4146 and request your number. You may also download the MY CSEA app.
AFSCME Delegates Election Year 2024
In addition to our own CSEA elections, in 2024, there is also an AFSCME Delegates election. The approved schedule for that election is as follows: (Remainder of schedule)

Balloting for the AFSCME Delegates election will take place at the same time and as part of the CSEA elections for Statewide officers, Region officers and Board of Directors. Members are urged to carefully read the election information contained in The Work Force throughout the election cycle as well as the instructions, which will accompany each mail ballot.
