ALBANY — CSEA members employed by New York State Canal Corp. overwhelmingly ratified a new, five- year agreement with their employer.
The contract, which runs through 2027, includes increases in compensation for raises and salary schedule, many added benefits and no increases in employee contributions to health care. The agreement also includes numerous other enhancements, as well as no concessions.
The agreement covers nearly
400 CSEA-represented Canal Corp. employees who are based in our union’s Capital, Central and Western regions.
CSEA’s three Canal Corp. local presidents, District 3 Central Barge
Canal Local President Chris Craine, District 2 Barge Canal East Local President Ron Euler and District 2 Barge Canal West Local President John Weisser, conducted the ballot count at CSEA Headquarters along with our union’s State Operations staff.
Nearly 400 CSEA-represented Canal Corp. employees maintain and operate New York’s 524-mile canal system that links the Hudson River with Lake Champlain, Lake Ontario, the Finger Lakes, the Niagara River and Lake Erie. The canal passes through 25 counties and is near more than 200 of our state’s communities.
