New year brings new opportunities for our union
4 The Work Force
January 2020
Sisters and Brothers:
This new year brings us new opportunities to make a better union that delivers even more value for our members, and I’m excited to be working to make that happen.
As your president, I’ve been traveling all around the state, talking with as many members as possible to hear about how we can improve our union.
What I hear is that you want a strong union that will fight for you, protect you, let your voices be heard, and negotiate contracts recognizing your valuable contributions for the work you do and the services you provide every day.
I’m working hard to make that a reality for our future.
We are hiring more staff professionals, taking advantage of new training
opportunities, enhancing and improving our communications, including working on a new website and looking to deliver better benefits and contracts for our members.
But moving our union forward only happens if we work together and you get involved. Go to a union meeting. Visit us online. Volunteer to take a more active role in our union. We need your support to be a stronger, more effective union. Working together, we gain the power to make positive changes.
Together we can achieve these goals for the new year.
In solidarity,
Mary E. Sullivan, President
