Central New York DDSO Local Recording Secretary Aida Sands emerges from the chilly water at the recent Oneida Shores Polar Plunge, a fundraiser for the Special Olympics New York. Sands was part of our union’s Region 5 Polar Peeps Team.

CSEA members plunge for Special Olympics New York
CSEA members are taking the Polar Plunge to raise money for the Special Olympics New York.
Throughout the winter season, members have participated in Polar Plunges in Brookhaven, Binghamton, Syracuse and Rochester, and there’s more to come.
As this edition was going to press, Southern Region members plunged into chilly waters in Fishkill. Long Island Region members are also slated to participate in the Town of Oyster Bay Polar Plunge on March 25. We will feature coverage of these events in a future edition.
