On Workers’ Memorial Day, observed on April 28, we remember those who died or became severely injured while doing
their jobs, including our
CSEA brothers and sisters.
In addition to
remembering
those who have
passed while
doing their
jobs, we also
use Workers’
Memorial Day to
renew our ongoing
commitment to
safe and healthy
workplaces. These
workplace deaths are
preventable, and we will continue to fight until everyone can do their jobs safely.
As this edition was going to press, CSEA members were planning to observe Workers’ Memorial Day
through events across the state that were being held on or around
April 28.
CSEA Executive
Vice President Mary E.
Sullivan and Central Region President Kenny
Greenleaf were among those
who participated in a recent
Workers’ Memorial Day ceremony in Ilion
organized by the Central New York Labor Council.
We will feature coverage from other events in the June Work Force.
