CTSEA Family,
his month, we mark Veterans Day, which is one of the most important observances in our country. We honor all of the people who have served, and are serving our country in uniform, including many members of our union family. Veterans have made many sacrifices to protect and defend our country. I thank and honor all veterans for their service and patriotism.
CSEA just held its 114th Annual Delegates Meeting. CSEA delegates conducted important union business, connected with one another and participated in workshops intended to increase their skills and knowledge.
Educating members and communicating with our members is one of the most important things that we can do in our union.
Whether you are an elected officer
or a newer member, CSEA has numerous training opportunities. I strongly encourage you to attend a union training, whether at a statewide event, a region conference or one of our union’s online labor education or safety and health programs. You will gain
more skills to play a role in our union’s ongoing fight for respect and dignity.
And, more importantly, share what you learn with our union members. When we share our experiences and knowledge, we unite with our members and grow our power one step at a time. That power is what makes us bold and strong. It gives us the ability to win good contracts, to ensure safe and healthy workplaces and to fight for economic security for all. It gives us
the power to fend off our enemies who want to eliminate public sector unions and to scam our members into quitting the union.
Our union’s collective strength and power grows because of informed, engaged and active members. We speak with one voice for all and that, my friends, is power!
