LATHAM — On behalf of our union,
CSEA Capital Region President
Shana Davis recently presented a
donation check to Special Olympics
New York.
Accepting the check on behalf
of Special Olympics New York was
athlete Matt Graham.
The nearly $10,000 check
represents a portion of ticket sales
from CSEA’s Yankees Weekend
promotion, where each ticket sold
directed $5 to Special Olympics
programs across the state.
Before the check presentation,
Graham visited with Davis in our
union’s Capital Region Office, where
they discussed Graham’s multi-
sport athletic interests. Graham
displayed recent medals he has
won, including a USA Gold Medal
he picked up at a powerlifting
competition last year in Orlando.

“Every time you check the news,
it seems like there is something
new going on in Washington.
Without the PEOPLE program, we
wouldn’t have the ability to fight
back at the federal level to keep
our protections and pensions,”
said Cottrell. “I challenge everyone
to step up and become an activist
by signing up for PEOPLE.”
CSEA’s PEOPLE program
protects and improves our
jobs, benefits, and pensions
in Washington, Albany, and in
your community. Your support
and participation in PEOPLE
strengthens CSEA’s clout in the
workplace, in the legislature, in
your community, and in the labor
movement.
