What is New Yorkers Against Corruption?
New Yorkers Against Corruption (NYAC) is a coalition of more than 100 organizations that all oppose a state constitutional convention.
This includes CSEA and other labor unions, but also numerous environmental, religious, community, political and health
and human services organizations. Coalition members span the political spectrum, including Planned Parenthood, Right to Life, Adirondack Council, the National Rifle Association, New York State Conservative Party and the Working Families Party.
Many of our coalition organizations disagree on major issues, but we all agree on one thing: a constitutional convention is wrong for New York.
A convention could not only cost our state more than $300 million, but it will be controlled by those who already have influence in our state. Hardworking families will not be included. The state constitution also protects numerous rights and freedoms, but during a convention, everything in the state constitution is open to change, putting constitutional protections at risk.
CSEA has been working closely with our partners in New Yorkers Against Corruption. Through NYAC, we have multiple mediums we are using to reach all New Yorkers, including radio, TV, social media and print.
When CSEA members see a NYAC ad, know that our union is fighting for all of our protections under the constitution, including our pensions, collective bargaining, right to organize, along with all the rights and freedoms for New Yorkers in all walks of life.
