Election Day: November 8, 2022!

Voting is a core part of being a union member.  Your Vote is Your Voice.  While voting is a personal choice, CSEA simply encourages you to make sure your voice is heard.

In New York, the deadline to register to vote is October 14.

How To Vote
NYS makes it very convenient to vote.  Below are links to help you out, or download and share this flyer.

CSEA Endorsements

Our union has an open, member-driven endorsement process. Union members serving on political action committees interview candidates, review voting records and determine whether a candidate has CSEA members’ interests in mind. CSEA does not make endorsements based on party, but rather on who will best represent the interests of CSEA members and help protect the services union members provide.

Below is a full list of CSEA endorsed candidates and the office they are seeking.  Check back regularly as we update our endorsement list.

CSEA Endorsed Statewide Candidates
CSEA endorses Governor Kathy Hochul
Since becoming Governor, Hochul has made fighting for CSEA members a top priority. Here are just a few of her accomplishments on behalf of us:

  • Lifted the state’s hiring freeze
  • Secured bonuses for direct care and health care workers
  • Made major investments in childcare
  • Made positive pension reforms
  • Ensured historic levels of funding for school districts
  • Expanded service credits for all eligible veterans who honorably served.

CSEA endorses Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado
CSEA has developed a solid relationship with Delgado during his time Representative for New York’s 19th Congressional District.  “He supported the American Rescue plan that brought much-needed revenue to our State and local governments and into our communities. He helped pass that act which in turn helped us all weather the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said CSEA President Mary E. Sullivan in her statement announcing this endorsement.

CSEA endorses Senator Chuck Schumer

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer was key to New York receiving billions in federal aid through the American Rescue Plan, which is not only helping our state recover from the pandemic, but helping to rebuild our infrastructure, combat climate change and create jobs.

CSEA endorses State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli

State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, a longtime friend to our union, has safeguarded our pensions through sound investment and management of one of the largest state retirement funds in the country. He also strongly supports retaining a defined-benefit pension to allow public employees a secure retirement.

CSEA endorses Attorney General Letitia James

State Attorney General Letitia Jameshas held employers accountable by fighting on behalf of working people against lost wages, unfair labor practices and unsafe working conditions.

CSEA has endorsed and encourages members to Vote YES on Proposition 1 of the ballot for the Environmental Bond Act.
