Retiree leaders meet; get training
Our union’s Retiree Executive Committee (REC) recently met in Saratoga Springs to conduct union business, get updates on important
union issues and complete mandatory training.
REC members re-elected Rochester Area Retirees
Local 912 President Bernadette Giambra as REC Chair; Syracuse Area Retirees Local 913 President Kathleen Zabinski as REC Vice Chair and Buffalo- Niagara Frontier Retirees Local 903 President Joan Bender as REC Secretary.
CSEA Executive Vice President Richard Bebo presented the Presidents/Vice Presidents Training and administered the oath of office to attendees. REC members got an update from CSEA Legislative Representative Alex George on the impact of cuts in the recently passed federal budget; got an overview on CSEA’s recently redesigned website, MyCSEA App and social media channels; learned about NYS Deferred Compensation and discussed recruitment of retiree members.
CSEA Statewide Secretary Stacey Baldwin Deyo and Capital Region President Shana Davis also participated in the meeting.
