are realizing the benefits of Retirement Online.
That’s because Retirement Online provides instant access to your retirement account information and a convenient, secure way to conduct business with NYSLRS. Save time— skip printing forms, having them notarized and sending them through the mail. When you use Retirement Online, NYSLRS receives your requests immediately and is able to process them faster than paper forms.
Sign-in made simple
Did you know you can look up your Retirement Online user ID and reset your password if you’ve forgotten them? Our self- service tools make it easy to recover your credentials so you can access your account information when you need to.
From the Retirement Online sign-in page (bit.ly/RO-sign-in), click the Customer Sign In button. Then, on the login page:

• Click OK on the pop-up message saying your account is locked.
• Select how you want to receive your security code and click Next.
• Enter the security code you received and click Submit.

For additional help signing in to an existing account, check out our Retirement Online tools and tips (bit.ly/RO-tools-tips).
Safeguarding your account
Be sure to sign in to Retirement Online at least once a year and update your password so it doesn’t expire. Now is an especially good time to check your credentials so you can ensure you’re able to sign in and avoid delays
when your important documents are available, like your 1099-R tax form in January and your Retiree Annual Statement in February.
Just like with other online accounts, remember to keep your user ID, password
and security answers safe. Avoid reusing passwords from other online accounts and sharing them with others to prevent scammers from accessing your account. If you ever receive a notification of a password change you did not make, contact NYSLRS immediately (www.contactnyslrs.com).
