Local government dental plan enhancements make great plans even better
Increasingly, oral health is being linked to overall health, making it more important than ever to offer CSEA members quality dental plans.
All of the CSEA Employee Benefit Fund dental plans promote oral health through excellent features and benefits designed to
keep members’ teeth and gums healthy.
The EBF is pleased
to announce a number
of enhancements to
our local government
group plans. These enhancements demonstrate our commitment to the health and wellness of CSEA members by adding even more value to your negotiated dental plans.
“I am proud of the outstanding benefit package that we have put in place with the EBF,” CSEA President
and EBF Chairperson Mary E. Sullivan said. “I am equally pleased that the EBF Board of Trustees was able to recognize the need for enhancements and quickly approve these enhancements.”
On April 12, 2022, the EBF Board of Trustees approved a measure that enhances
our local government group plans, including our Sunrise, Horizon, Equinox and Dutchess dental plans.
Plan allowances were increased for important dental procedures as exams, cleanings, and x-rays. Allowances for fillings, crowns and extractions will also be enhanced. Coverage for root canals and periodontal services has also been improved, and other important
enhancements to orthodontic services will be made.
While we are increasing the allowance for these important existing services, the EBF is also adding new coverage for precision attachments that may be needed for better denture fit, fluoride coverage for adults and children, and cone beam imaging, an advanced service that is becoming popular for those needing implant services.
New summary plan descriptions for our Sunrise, Horizon, Equinox and Dutchess dental plans are available to view or download from our website
at cseaebf.com. Using the menu on the left, click or tap on “Local Gov’t Employees.” Then, click or tap on dental benefits.

  CSEA Members, Let’s Talk Disability
Most New York Public Sector Employees have NO Disability Insurance from New York State.
95% of Disabilities AREN’T COVERED by Workers’ Compensation1.
Workers’ Comp covers job-related injuries, but almost 90% of disabilities result from illnesses, not accidents. An additional 5% are injuries that happen off the job, and therefore wouldn’t qualify either.

You probably don’t have to look too far to find a parent, sibling or close friend who’s struggled with illness or injury to realize the threat of a disability is all too real.
