lead workers’ efforts to establish and enforce a a a a a a a workplace violence prevention program at county work work sites He also played a a a a a a key role in in in ensuring a a a a a two-person plowing system on on the county’s rural roads Turck worked tirelessly to successfully resolve both issues working with county workers CSEA activists and union staff on on strong labor-management plans that help keep people safer on on the job Known as a a a a a a a dogged but diplomatic negotiator Turck makes education and member safety his top priorities In accepting the award presented by CSEA President Danny Donohue Turck spoke briefly and eloquently about what drives him “The work we do makes a a a a a difference in our members’ lives ” he he he said “The work we do here educating ourselves and and taking that knowledge home is important and and saves lives ” McGowan was was CSEA president from 1977 to 1988 and was was instrumental in in the the enactment of the the Public Employee Safety and Health (PESH) law — Therese Assalian
