Union adapts with safer member outreach
The COVID-19 pandemic may have halted many in-person membership meetings and events due to social distancing requirements, but CSEA leaders and activists are finding new, creative ways to reach members and complete union business.
Throughout this year, union members have been holding successful, socially distanced drive-through information days and membership meetings, outdoor contract ratification votes and vehicle caravans in place of traditional demonstrations.
Many of the events have included to-go bags full
of important union information and member-only giveaways, CSEA officers and staff on hand to meet attendees from a safe distance, food trucks and even meals delivered to attendees at their vehicles. On this page are a few images from recent events.
Capital Region President Ron Briggs addresses members before a vehicle rally outside U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik’s Glens Falls office earlier this year to urge Stefanik to support federal aid to state and local governments.
