In person or virtually, EBF representatives ready to help
CSEA region, local and unit leaders have been very creative when it comes to keeping members informed while maintaining health and safety protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic.
CSEA Employee Benefit Fund (EBF) representatives have eagerly participated in virtual membership meetings, drive through information days and socially distant enrollment site visits. We are excited to be on
the road again!
In addition to our Statewide
Benefits Specialist for state government locals, the EBF has Senior Benefits Specialists assigned to the Long Island, Southern, Capital, Central
and Western regions to help local government members.
The specialists are available to attend negotiation sessions,
membership meetings, information days, health fairs and open enrollment site visits. In addition to benefit presentations, these local government
benefit specialists are also available to prepare dental or vision
comparisons so when your team goes to the negotiating table the members are fully informed of their options.
Whether it is from our offices in Latham, remotely from our homes, or in person at your workplace, we continue to provide exceptional service, education and support to CSEA members. Here are what EBF’s benefits specialists have to say:
“It’s important for members know that the EBF is here to support them & their families’ well-being on a personal level. The best part of my job is meeting members face-to-face and helping them understand their benefits.”
— Candace Sclafani, Long Island Region Senior Benefits Specialist csclafani@cseaebf.org
“I love meeting members at different events to provide them information on their benefits. A lot of times, they will come to us with questions or concerns that we can address on the spot. There aren’t many organizations that provide these opportunities and I’m proud to be a part of one that does.”
— Jordan Rider, Southern Region Senior Benefits Specialist jrider@cseaebf.org
“There is no substitute for having someone explain your benefits to you. When speaking with members about their benefits, I often see that ‘Aha!’ moment when they learn something new and helpful. It is very rewarding!”
— Erin Bazinet, Capital Region Senior Benefits Specialist ebazinet@cseaebf.org
“The most rewarding part of my role at the EBF is connecting to the members who trust us to deliver them premium benefits while saving them money. Member meetings and information days are a great way to help members better understand how to make the most of their dental and vision plans while connecting in person. There’s always a smile under our masks ready to serve you.”
— Gina Tralongo, Central Region Senior Benefits Specialist gtralongo@cseaebf.org
“The experience of getting back out to CSEA meetings and seeing members has been extremely rewarding. There is no question that it has been a devastating year for everyone. The members need us now more than ever. It’s great being able
to tell members about all the technological improvements we have been making at the EBF. They appreciate hearing that we’ve been working hard for them and adapting to this ever- changing landscape.”
— Jim Aldrich, Western Region Senior Benefits Specialist jaldrich@cseaebf.org
“I love being on the road and getting the opportunity to connect with the members on a different level.”
— Kylie Chard, State Government Benefits Specialist kchard@cseaebf.org
Attention: Public Sector Local and Unit Presidents
Important Election Information:
The term of office for current Public Sector Local and Unit officers will expire on June 30, 2021. Elections
for office must be conducted and completed before the new term begins on July 1, 2021.
A letter was sent by the Statewide Election Committee (SEC) in September to each Local and Unit President requesting each Executive Board to select 1) a Chairperson and Election Committee or 2) an Election Meeting Chair (available to Locals and Units with 150 members or less), prior to October 15, 2020. Each Local and Unit President was provided with and asked to return the completed Election Committee
and Election Meeting Chairperson
Data Form along with Executive
Board meeting minutes reflecting the appointments. If this has not been
completed, please do so immediately. Please refer to the SEC’s September letter for procedural requirements.
Once Election Committees/Election Meeting Chairs are in place, beginning in February 2021, each registered Chairperson will receive an election package from CSEA to assist them in performing their election duties. This material is necessary to have to run a proper election.
CSEA Headquarters cannot send material to any Chairperson without first receiving the completed Election Data Form from the Local or Unit President.
Any questions pertaining to the September mailing, or the election process in general, can be answered by contacting the SEC at 1-800-342-4146, extension 1447 or sec@cseainc.org.
