CAPE VINCENT — CSEA is mourning the loss of Central Region activist Jolene Radley, who passed away on September 17. She was 69.
Radley served in several
leadership
roles in our
union, including as Cape Vincent Correctional Facility Local President and AFSCME delegate.
She was also a strong supporter of our union’s Polar Plunge efforts. Over the years, Radley donated thousands of dollars to the Special Olympics on behalf of CSEA’s Central Region. To raise the money, Radley would hem and alter her co-workers’ uniforms. She also made and sold
masks throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, with all proceeds going to the Special Olympics.
“Jolene was a fantastic leader, a dedicated union activist, a mentor, and a friend to so many of us in the region,” said Central Region President Kenny Greenleaf. “As we mourn her loss with her family, we will always remember her beautiful smile and her enthusiasm and dedication to helping others.”
Radley was also very involved in her church and community, including serving on Thousand Islands Central School Board of Education for 22 years.
She is survived by her husband, three children, four grandchildren, siblings and nieces and nephews. Services were held on October 1.
