November: full of truly American traditions
NSisters and brothers,
ovember is certainly a busy month for events, holidays and observances!
Election Day is on Tuesday, November 8. We have our endorsements, and you can find them on our website at cseany.org/vote.
It’s important to understand that when we endorse these candidates, we don’t look at the party they are from we look at what their record and platform in supporting hardworking people is, and we make our decision from there. Regardless of whether you agree with us, we encourage EVERY American to go and vote on Election Day and please make your voices heard.
That same week, Veterans Day arrives on November 11, marking one of the most important observances in our country. On this day, we honor all the brave women and men who have made so many sacrifices to protect and defend our country. We celebrate
their patriotism and service.
And finally, Thanksgiving is the
time to reflect on all that we can and should be grateful for. High on the list of things I’m thankful for is our union and our union members. We cannot take for granted everything that we gain as members of a strong labor union. We gain dignity and respect, a better life for ourselves, as well as our families and loved ones.
I hope each and every one of
you have a safe, happy and healthy Thanksgiving. I know many of you will be doing what you do so many other days out of the year – working hard for all of us and caring for our citizens.
In Solidarity,
Mary E. Sullivan, President
