Bush receives PEOPLE recruiter honors
Rutha Bush of the Suffolk Retirees Local in the Long Island Region is the PEOPLE Recruiter of the Month for August. She recruited nine new PEOPLE members.
She was also recently honored at our Retiree Delegates Meeting as the Retiree PEOPLE Recruiter of the Year for 2016-17.
“I feel very strongly about the PEOPLE program and that all CSEA members should be involved in it,” Bush said. “These are serious times and we need to know that we have someone lobbying on behalf of us and our right to keep the benefits and pensions that we’ve worked hard to have. Being

Summary of September Board of Directors Meeting

Village of Lyons, N.Y. for five years commencing Aug. 1, 2018 and ending July 31, 2023, at a monthly payment of $500. As this lease runs past the local officers’ current term, the board’s approval is necessary.
• Approved the Standing Legal Committee report of Sept. 12, 2018.
• Approved the Standing Legislative and Political Action Committee report of Sept. 12, 2018.
• Approved the appointments to the Political Action Committee of David Chambers, Capital Region Judiciary Local 694 (Capital Region), and Jeremy Kuznia, Onondaga County Educational Employees Local 874(Central Region).

ALBANY — CSEA’s statewide Board of Directors met on Sept. 12, 2018. In official business, the board:
• Approved Suffolk Educational Employees Local 870 to enter into a vehicle lease agreement with South Shore Motors Corp. for 36 months, at a monthly payment of $431.98. As this lease runs past the local officers’ current term, the board’s approval is necessary.
• Approved Wayne County
Local 859 to enter into a lease agreement at 24 William Street,
