This resolution calls for CSEA to condemn all acts of political violence, which are detrimental
to democratic processes and the well-being of society. The resolution also calls for union members to emphasize and demonstrate the importance

Brown, Region 2 President Lester Crockett, Region 3 President Anthony Adamo, Region 4 President Shana Davis, Region 5 President Kenny Greenleaf and Region 6 President Steve Healy.
Our union is resolving to support the state’s “equal rights” legislation, which would amend
the state constitution to explicitly prohibit discrimination based on ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, and pregnancy outcomes.
CSEA must emphasize the importance of protecting all individuals from discrimination, and our union will support and advocate for equal protection and justice for all New Yorkers.

This resolution calls for CSEA to restore dignity and rights for civil service and public workers
by creating an internal organizing-inspired political program that is centered on issue-based
conversations with members where they work and live. This program would educate members and increase the political power of working people. The resolution also calls for our union to take the initiative in working with other unions to advocate for laws, elect leaders who will improve working people’s lives, advocate for workplace dignity and secure social equity.
The Resolutions Committee recommends this resolution be adopted as written.
