                                                     5. Calling for governments to combat workplace violence
Submitted by President Mary E. Sullivan, Executive Vice President Ron Briggs, Secretary Richard Bebo, Treasurer Nicole Meeks, Region 1 President Jarvis Brown, Region 2 President Lester Crockett, Region 3 President Anthony Adamo, Region 4 President Shana Davis, Region 5 President Kenny Greenleaf and Region 6 President Steve Healy.
CSEA is calling for the passage of H.R. 2663 Workplace Prevention for Health Care and Social Services Worker Act to set the model to protect our most vulnerable workers. Several recent incidents and senseless acts of violence have brought to light the potential dangers CSEA members face on the job daily, particularly those in the health care and social services fields. Workplace violence rates
are increasing and it is one of the leading causes
of death on the job nationally. Women also suffer seven out of 10 workplace violence incidents. It is abundantly clear that more must be done to combat the workplace violence epidemic.
The Resolutions Committee recommends this resolution be adopted as written.

CSEA is committed to pursuing a robust agenda
to ensure accountability and transparency by
private sector institutions when public services
are privatized, which will provide reassurance and
confidence to members employed by the private
sector, as well as the public. Our union is also

To help grow our union, CSEA, on a statewide and region level, is making New Member Orientation (NEO) training a high priority at every conference and training that leaders attend. At this Annual Delegates Meeting, our union is ensuring that
every delegate educate themselves on available resources, as well as providing the resources to those completing NEO. Units and locals also resolve to commit resources and time to ensuring that
the NEO at their work locations run efficiently. Finally, this resolution will be shared by our union in all communications outlets to ensure NEO is a conversation members are all having.
