CSEA announces statewide scholarship recipients
CSEA is proud to announce the recipients of the 2024 Irving Flaumenbaum, Pearl Insurance
and MetLife Insurance Company Scholarships.
Our union presents the scholarships annually to graduating high school seniors who are eligible dependents of CSEA members. Congratulations to all of the recipients.
Irving Flaumenbaum Memorial Scholarships (three in each region):
Long Island Region:
Marissa Battista, whose parent,
Antonella Battista, is a teacher aide at the Jericho School District.
James Driscoll, whose parent, Kathryn Driscoll, is a teacher assistant at the Mattituck School District.
Jax Grella, whose parent, Kenneth Grella, is a maintenance mechanic 4 at the Town of Brookhaven.
Metropolitan Region: Emmanuel Boateng, whose
parent, Stephen Antwi, is a janitor at Kirby Forensic Psychiatric Center.
Edward Fang, whose parent, Baozhen Qiao, is an epidemiologist at Health Research, Inc.
Joyti Nath, whose parent, Bejoy Nath, is an office assistant 2 at
the New York State Psychiatric Institute.
Southern Region:
Antonella Cappello, whose
parent, Leonarda Cappello, is a teacher assistant at the White Plain City School District.
Amanda Intrieri, whose parent, Tina Breen, is a cafeteria worker at Webutuck Central School.
Edward Karron, whose parent, Diana Karron, is a secretary to judge at the Unified Court System, 9th Judicial District.
Capital Region:
Sanai Callaway, whose parent,
Kendra McCalmon, is a BSC Representative 1 at the New York State Office of General Services.
Zoe Miller, whose parent, Tiana Graham, is an office assistant at the New York State Retirement System/ Office of the State Comptroller.
Kylee Hendrickson, whose parent, Wayland Jester, is a service and repair mechanic at the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
Central Region:
Jordyn Cole, whose parent,
Laurie Cole, is a senior office assistant at the Rome City School District.
Giavanna Consolie, whose parent, Jennifer Consolie, is an office assistant 2 at Five Points Correctional Facility.
Emelia Foote, whose parent, Derek Foote, is a mechanic at the Town of Tupper Lake.
Western Region:
Colby Boyer, whose parent,
Kristin Boyer, is a clerical worker at Newfane Central School District.
Abigail Murphy, whose parent, Colleen Murphy, is a forensic biologist at the Monroe County Crime Lab.
Isabelle Schrock, whose parent, Susan Schrock, is a clerk/typist at North Tonawanda Central School District.
Pearl Insurance:
Luke Kolbe, whose parent,
Rachelle Kolbe, is a teacher aide at North Tonawanda Central School District.
Met Life Insurance Company: Tifany Perez, whose parent,
Daniela Perez, is a bilingual neighborhood aide at Riverhead Central School District.

Important Election Information:
The term of office for current Public & Private Sector Local and Unit officers will expire on June 30, 2025. Elections for office must be conducted and completed before the new term begins on July 1, 2025. (Note: Retiree officers
and CSEA/VOICE officers can disregard — the Statewide Election Committee will run your elections.)
The Statewide Election Committee (SEC) is mailing information on September 9 to each Public & Private Sector Local and Unit President requesting each Executive Board to select prior to October 15, 2024: (1) an Election Chairperson/Committee or (2) an Election Meeting Chair
(available to Locals and Units with fewer than 150 members). Each Local and Unit President was provided with and asked to return the completed Election Committee and Election Meeting Chairperson Data Form including Executive Board meeting minutes reflecting the appointments. If this has not been completed, please do so immediately. Please refer
to the SEC’s September letter for procedural requirements.
