CSEA is under attack by the Freedom Foundation, which is trying to trick members into leaving our union. While these attacks are nothing new, they are ramping up their efforts to scam our members.
The Freedom Foundation is contacting members in every way possible, including with intentionally deceptive mailers, emails, social media, calling or texting and even at-home visits. Some of the contacts have fraudulently claimed to be from the CSEA President. These messages are NOT coming from CSEA.
The Freedom Foundation and other anti-labor groups want to take our power! It is time to fight back!
What they are saying
The Freedom Foundation will falsely allude to raises for members who opt out of the union. A recent mailer from the group even gives some tips about how union members can spend those dollars, including with shopping sprees, a spa day or even concert tickets. While some extra money may be tempting, think about the true cost of giving up union membership.
The Freedom Foundation has also told members that they don’t need a union to represent them, often using phrases such as “you have a choice.”
Just remember – they are not telling the truth and their scams put your jobs, benefits and pay at risk.
