adopthwyBEEKMANTOWN — Our Clinton County Local’s Strong Communities Work Committee has “signed on” for a very visual project. The committee recently adopted a portion of Lake Shore Road in Beekmantown, outside of Plattsburgh. “We are very excited,” local Strong Communities Work Committee Chair Bill McNierney, who first approached the county about five months ago for approval in “adopting” the area. “We got our application approved and met for a safety and rules training.” Volunteers will keep the road that abuts Lake Champlain beautiful by picking up trash and debris from the sides of the road. Volunteers plan to clean the roadside about three times per year between spring and fall.
