WESTBURY — CSEA members came out to support the Labor Council For Latin American Advancement’s (LCLAA) Long Island Chapter at the its 6th Anniversary Scholarship Gala celebration.

CSEA Statewide Secretary Denise Berkley, 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East Executive Vice President Steve Kramer and United Food & Commercial Workers International Secretary-Treasurer Esther López received honors for their activism and strong leadership skills.

Event organizers expressed the importance of standing united and educating union members, as well as the general public, on the Labor Movement.

LCLAA is an AFL-CIO constituency group that represents about 2 million Latino unionists throughout the United States, including Puerto Rico. The group seeks to promote full participation of Latino union workers in the larger Labor Movement. CSEA plays an active role in LCLAA.
