State Comptroller: State pension fund at record-high value

The New York State Retirement Fund is valued at a record-high $192 billion, according to a recent report by State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli.

DiNapoli, in a recent news release, noted that the fund’s value is based on strong investment returns over the past fiscal year, along with solid management of the assets.

Our state’s retirement fund is one of the largest public pension funds in the United States, providing retirement security to more than 1 million CSEA members and other public employees, retirees and their beneficiaries.
New York also has one of the best-funded, most stable defined-benefit pension systems, largely because of excellent management by DiNapoli and his staff, including CSEA members.
