COMMACK — CSEA is proud to represent members that come from an array of races, cultures and nationalities. A great place to celebrate our inclusivity is at the Long Island Region’s annual International Day Festival.
Members from across our region attended the event to partake in different types of ethnic cuisine and celebrate the cultural traditions of their fellow members.
“This event is important because it gives members the chance to increase our fellowship,” said Human Rights Committee Chair Eileen Moskowitz.
The names of the 10 recipients of the “Send a Kid to Camp” scholarship were also drawn at the event. Each member, whose name was picked in the drawing, will receive $500 toward their child’s summer camp fees. In addition, vendors sponsored five $1,000 scholarships.
International Day is one of two annual events that the Human Rights Committee holds. Their next event will be the Festival of Lights, an event that celebrates different religious observances during the holiday season.
