HERKIMER – CSEA members in the Herkimer area recently collected more than eight hundred pounds of non-perishable food that they donated to the Utica-based Feed Our Vets Food Pantry.

According to CSEA Herkimer Local 822 President Beth Hall, the food was collected by several area CSEA groups, including Herkimer County BOCES employees, and members working at the Frankfort-Schuyler School District, where union Vice President Matt Crim collected donations during their “wacky hat day.”

“We are very grateful for the service our veterans have given, and this is one way we like to be able to give back to them,” Hall said.

CSEA represents more than 600 workers throughout 13 municipalities and school districts within Herkimer County.

The donated food completely filled up a pickup truck, and was gratefully accepted by Feed Our Vets representative Joseph Ancona.
