CLIFTON PARK — CSEA volunteer activists and staff recently reached out to our members in Saratoga County in our ongoing efforts to build our union.

During a four-day Never Quit member engagement effort that was mostly aimed at Saratoga County local government and school district employees, volunteers worked endlessly to knock on thousands of doors, hand out literature and have one-on-one conversations with our members.

While volunteers discussed with members looming challenges facing our union, including right-to-work and the Janus v. AFSCME Council 31 Supreme Court case, we also learned our brothers and sisters’ concerns about their jobs and our union.

In addition to the volunteers ‘on the ground,’ other volunteers reached out to our members through telephone calls.

Many members welcomed the volunteers, leading to real, one-on-one conversations, many around kitchen tables or living rooms, in garages and at doors.

We also reached out to members at their work sites, where we heard their concerns and spoke with them about the challenges we face as a union and how high the stakes are with looming right-to-work initiatives.

Saratoga County Local President Kathy Moran thanked member volunteers and staff for their efforts in making the outreach campaign “such a huge success.”
