Next Wave is a community of members dedicated to empowering, activating and developing leadership skills among the future generation of union leaders.

Speakers at the conference included Fareed Michelin of the AFL-CIO, who spoke about what it means to be a leader, as well as Anthony Harmon of UFT, who spoke about the role of younger people getting involved in leadership roles in their communities.

Next Wave Advisory Committee member and Town of Oyster Bay Local President Jarvis “Tim” Brown noted that it’s pivotal that we develop a sense of camaraderie amongst our membership.

“It’s important that we as CSEA members bridge the gap between the seasoned leadership and the new leadership for a better and more promising tomorrow,” he said.

Town of Oyster Bay Local 3rd Vice President Guadalupe “Lupe” Johnson chairs the committee.
