HAUPPAUGE — The Long Island Region Veterans Committee held a Veterans Day ceremony to pay tribute to the brave men and woman who served our country in the armed forces.
The program included special readings that caused attendees to reflect on the sacrifices that were made for the many civil liberties we enjoy. There was also a presentation of a wreath in memory of soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The Veterans Committee’s next event will be its annual holiday deliveries to residents of the Long Island State Veterans Home and the Northport VA Hospital. Every year, CSEA members donate personal care items such as toothpaste and shampoo. Committee members drop the donations off at the homes.
To donate items to veterans in need, deliver all new and unwrapped gifts to CSEA Long Island Region Headquarters at 3 Garet Place, Commack, NY 11725. Items will be delivered on Dec. 16, 2017.
