Mount Sinai Middle School Unit President Michael Hagenburg answers members’ questions about the Janus v. AFSCME Council 31 case at the
unit’s Never Quit meeting.

CSEA’s focus on member engagement continues across Long Island.

We’re still making it a priority to connect with members throughout our region to hear our members’ concerns and build a stronger union.

Most recently, Suffolk Educational Local 870 activists spoke to members at Shoreham-Wading River High School and Mount Sinai Middle School about the aggressive attacks on unions by anti-labor groups, billionaires and corporate interests, who want to undermine unions.

The most recent attack comes in the form of the U.S. Supreme Court case Janus v. AFSCME Council 31. We expect to hear the court’s opinion by late June.
Members who attended the member meetings signed Never Quit cards to demonstrate that they are sticking with our union.

No matter how the court decides Janus, we trust that our members will stay union and stay strong.
