RIVERHEAD — Long Island Judiciary Local 330 has more than 300 CSEA members who are dedicated to helping the public navigate through our state’s Unified Court System as easily as possible.

Our members represent a variety of job titles that can be found in every department in the courts building.

In short, the courts system couldn’t function without them.

“Our attorneys who work in mental hygiene legal services do a great job advocating for people who can’t advocate for themselves and making information as accessible as possible,” said Long Island Judiciary Local 330 President Diane Hansen.

Local members know that going to court isn’t the way most people would like to spend their time, but they are confident that CSEA members’ dedication to their jobs makes it a better experience for the public.

“We try to make the public’s visit to the courts as positive as we can,” said Long Island Judiciary Local 330 Vice President Larry Germano. “We have members who work directly with the judge, making sure the case runs as efficiently as possible.”

Local officers note that our members have received plenty of positive feedback from other court workers.
As stressful as their jobs may be, our members have done an excellent job of forming relationships with their colleagues.

“We have members who work very closely with the judge so the people in the judge’s office become like a little family,” said Long Island Judiciary Local 330 Secretary Linda Luhrs. “Everyone gets along and does what they need to do to make the system work.”

Relationships aside, CSEA Unified Court System workers appreciate who they work for.

“We are civil service employees and we are committed to the public that we serve,” said Long Island Judiciary Local 330 Treasurer Angela Maynor. “We’re also committed to aiding our members through anything that goes on in their lives.”
