BOHEMIA — The Long Island Region Women’s Committee recently held a fundraiser at McGuires Comedy Club, with all of CSEA’s proceeds going to Relay for Life.
Relay for Life is a subset of the American Cancer Society.

The committee’s event was a joint venture with Twin Oaks Horse Sanctuary and Suffolk District OES (Order of the Eastern Star), with the other organizations’ share of the profits going to different charitable organizations.
Long Island Region Women’s Committee Chair Millie Lucas got the idea to hold a comedy night while attending another event.

“I’m a member of the American Legion and I attended one of their comedy night fundraisers,” said Lucas. “I thought it was a good idea, so I decided we should try it, too.”

Women’s Committee member Stacey Pagan, right, welcomes her friend Rhonda Fresca to the event.

In total, the committee raised $2,200.
