SYRACUSE — CSEA is gearing up for up our 28th annual booth at the New York State Fair in Syracuse this August to promote our union members and the vital work we perform for the public.

During the Fair’s 13-day run from August 22 through September 3, CSEA will operate our booth in the Fair’s Center of Progress Building from 10 am to 10 pm. Our booth is located along the outer wall, to the left if you enter through the building’s center doors.

Volunteer activists will staff the booth, handing out CSEA shopping bags, school excuse notepads, and CSEA coloring maps. They will also be registering people to vote and encouraging members to sign in our electronic guest log. All members signing in will receive a special gift while supplies last.

CSEA President Danny Donohue plans to visit the union’s booth at the Fair during CSEA weekend on Sunday, September 2, from 10 am to 12 noon. Members visiting the Fair that weekend can gain discounted admission for $6 at any Fair gate using coupons from the July/August edition of the CSEA Work Force newspaper. Anyone needing additional coupons can request them by calling our Central Region Office at 315-433-0050.

Additionally, on Labor Day, Monday, September 3, CSEA members will march in the Greater Syracuse Labor Council’s Labor Day Parade at the Fairgrounds. We will line up at 10:00 am outside the Fair’s Iroquois Village (look for the CSEA banner), and the parade march begins at 10:30, with a Union Strong rally to follow. Free Fair tickets for those marching with us will be available through Local and Unit Presidents in Onondaga and surrounding counties. People located outside those counties can call the CSEA Central Region Office at 315-433-0050 for tickets. We will have free CSEA “Proud Union Member” tee shirts and “I’m sticking with my union” placards for those who join us, while supplies last.

CSEA proudly represents many year-round workers at the Fairgrounds who belong to our Syracuse State Employees Local and work for the State Department of Agriculture and Markets.
