COMMACK — Occasional downpours didn’t stop our members from gathering together to celebrate the different races, cultures and nationalities at our region’s annual International Day Festival.
During the event, members enjoy ethnic cuisine and fellowship with each other outside of work and in a relaxed atmosphere.
The event is also where the names of the “Send a Kid to Camp” scholarship recipients are drawn. This year, the region awarded $10,000 in camp scholarship money to members and their children.
International Day is the first of two annual events held by the Human Rights Committee. The next event is the Festival of Lights celebration, which celebrates the various religious observances of our members during the holiday season.
