HAUPPAUGE — The Long Island Region Veterans Committee held its annual Veterans Day ceremony, to honor the countless men and women who served our country in the U.S. armed forces.

As part of the event, there were special readings that gave attendees the opportunity to reflect on veterans’ service to our country, including the many sacrifices they make to serve our country in uniform. The committee also paid tribute to those who gave their lives while serving our country.

The Veterans Committee’s next event will be its annual holiday deliveries to local residents in need, including those who reside at the Long Island State Veterans Home and the Northport VA Hospital.

To donate personal care items such as a toothbrush, nail clippers and combs, deliver all new and unwrapped gifts to the CSEA Long Island Region Office, 3 Garet Place, Commack, NY 11725. Deliver items no later than Dec. 12, 2018.
