NEW YORK — CSEA’s President’s Polar Cap Award will remain in CSEA’s Central Region for another year.

That’s because the Region once again won the annual award recognizing the CSEA Region who raises the most money for Special Olympics through their Polar Plunge events.

CSEA’s Central Region again dominated the competition, raising more than $17,000 last plunge season from events held in the Binghamton, Massena, Syracuse and Ithaca areas. Since its inception in 2010, our Region has won the award eight out of nine years running. In total, the Central Region has raised more than $180,000 over the last ten years.

Now-retired Region President Colleen Wheaton proudly accepted the award on behalf of our Region.
