E. SYRACUSE — The leadership, activists, and staff of our Region are wishing a happy retirement to longtime activist and Region Officer Casey Walpole.

Walpole has retired after 38 years of state service working at SUNY Oswego, where she became very active in our union. Over the years, she has served in many positions at the Local, Regional and Statewide level. Most recently, she had served as Central Region executive vice president, recording secretary of SUNY Oswego Local 611, and chair of our Statewide SUNY Labor-Management and Constitution and By-Laws Committees.

Our Central Region Officers will move up the chain of succession to fill her vacancy, and Central Region President Kenny Greenleaf will appoint a new third vice president at our upcoming Spring Conference.

Best wishes, Casey, and thanks for your service to our union! We look forward to working with you as a retiree activist.
