THIELLS – The 11th annual Southern Region Golf Classic has been scheduled for Friday, Sept. 13, 2019 at the Philip J. Rotella Golf Course.
The golfing event is our major fundraiser for both our Southern Region scholarships and our Emergency/Disaster Relief Fund. This year, we were able to award four $1,000 college scholarships to graduating seniors whose parents or guardians are members of our union.
“Being able to provide these scholarships is another way we show our members how our union positively impacts our lives,” said Southern Region President Anthony Adamo. “That money really makes a difference for families working so hard to make college happen for their children. When it comes to college costs, every dollar makes a difference. It’s also so important to continue to allocate money for our Emergency/Disaster Relief Fund. We’ve been able to use that money to provide assistance to our members experiencing some heartbreaking circumstances.”
The Golf Classic begins at 12 p.m. on Sept. 13 with registration and a light lunch. There will be a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Dinner, along with awards and raffles, will take place at the conclusion of golfing. The cost is $130 per individual golfer or $520 for a foursome. The cost for anyone looking to attends the dinner only is $50.
Event organizers are offering sponsorship opportunities, with the cost to sponsor a hole (complete with signage) set at $50. Donations of raffle prizes are encouraged and will be gratefully accepted. Anyone needing more information should contact Kathy Rodriguez at (845) 649-4831 or Guy Bilyou at (845) 489-4494.
