COMMACK —The CSEA Long Island Region Veterans Committee stays active year round raising money and collecting donations for local veterans.
The committee’s most recent event was its annual car wash. All proceeds from the event go to veterans in need. This year, the committee raised $630.
Long Island Region Veterans Committee Chair Maryann Phelps said she is motivated by the committee members’ collective determination to support our nation’s heroes.
“Our region Veterans Committee supports numerous veterans organizations on Long Island that offer food, shelter and transportation to veterans in need,” said Phelps. “These organizations also offer programs that help educate and empower these veterans, helping them to become more Independent.”
“The dedication of this committee, and our volunteers, is evident by the hard work that they do on weekends and holidays when their service is most needed,” said Phelps. “Their continued energy and enthusiasm is the driving force of the Long Island Region One Veterans Committee.”
