BUFFALO — Mona Columbo of the SUNY Buffalo Local in our Western Region is our PEOPLE Recruiter of the Month for June. She recruited 31 new PEOPLE members.
“I am a PEOPLE recruiter because I truly recognize our political action power can foster change in public policy to positively benefit our union,” said Columbo, who also serves as her local’s treasurer. “We also need to ensure the right political forces are in place who support our collective bargaining rights and our benefits. This fund is supported by many small contributions from our members, but collectively it creates a lot of leverage for us at the state and national level. This work is very important to the overall success of CSEA and to the American labor movement.”
