BROOME COUNTY — Local 648 (SUNY Binghamton) and Local 449 (Broome Developmental Center) joined efforts to form a joint women’s committee. The team’s first project was a school supplies drive which lasted from July until the middle of September.

CSEA members drop off school supply donations to Maine Endwell school district.

Members donated:

  • 8 book bags
  • 38 notebooks
  • 17 packs of colored pencils
  • 8 pencil pouches
  • 4 bottles of glue
  • 2 glue sticks
  • 14 packs of pencils
  • 7 packs of markers
  • 2 pencil boxes
  • 7 folders
  • 18 boxes of crayons

The joint women’s committee put the names of all the school districts in Broome County in a bowl, and Maine Endwell and Johnson City Central School districts were selected at random to receive the donations.
