KINGS PARK — Kings Park Central School District Unit members are making sure fewer students go without school supplies.

For the second consecutive year, the unit has held a school supply collection drive, during which CSEA members employed by the district donated the supplies to local students in need.

For members who have daily contact with students, it’s particularly satisfying to be able to help.
“It’s easy to see that some students are more in need than others,” Kings Park Central School District Unit President Rich Lasnier. “It really makes our members feel good to be able to assist kids that they see every day. They get a lot more out of it than what they give. It’s terrific.”

The unit has the full support of Suffolk Education Local President Maria Navarro.

“The Kings Park Central School District Unit is an amazing group of people,” said Navarro. “Giving back to the community is always at the forefront of their collective mindset. I am so proud of what they continue to accomplish and of the excellent example of leadership by their unit president, Rich Lasnier.”
