ROCHESTER — CSEA Monroe County Sheriff Command Staff Unit members voted Nov. 18 to ratify a new agreement with the county.
About 32 public safety employees in the supervisory unit were working without a contract since the previous deal expired on Dec. 31, 2012.
The new five-year deal guarantees a cost of living increase over the life of the contract, as well as salary increases. All employees shall receive a bonus to be paid 60 days following the county executive’s and Monroe County Legislature’s final approval of the agreement.
Depending on an employee’s hire date, some unit members will pay a slightly higher contribution percentage for health care over time. Additionally, employees who join this bargaining unit after Sept. 13, 2016, must have 20 years of continuous service with the county to qualify for retiree health insurance.
The new agreement will expire Dec. 31, 2021.
